Zion Senior Pastor
Pastor James L. Voorman
James L. Voorman was born June 27, 1984, the son of Rev. & Mrs. Duane (Pam) Voorman of Lincoln Nebraska. He is the oldest of three children. Pastor James attended parochial school at Trinity, Lincoln, NE and graduated from Lincoln Lutheran High School (2002), Concordia University – Nebraska (2006), and Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (2010). His vicarage year was spent at Grace & Trinity Lutheran Churches in Neligh & Elgin, NE. Pastor’s first call found him serving as associate pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church and School of Toledo, Ohio (2010-13). Trinity is a large parish with a large school. In the last year and a half he has served the people of Lucas County, Ohio, as a Victim’s Advocate through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for that county.
Pastor Voorman is married to Amanda (nee Hehn), who hails from Fort Collins, Colorado. She also graduated from Concordia University – Nebraska with a teaching degree in both Spanish and English as a Second Language. She has worked most recently at Springfield High School in Toledo as a Spanish Teacher and faculty representative for the National Honor Society.
Pastor and Amanda enjoy sports and being active. They have two black Labradors which keep their household hopping. They also enjoy traveling, visiting new places and meeting new people.

Pastor of Zion Decatur Church
Worship is a vital part of the life of Zion Lutheran Church. It is a time to be strengthened in our faith by hearing God’s Word and by receiving the Lord’s Supper. At Zion we gather weekly around the Lord’s Word and Sacraments to be forgiven, encouraged and sent back into the rest of our week with His peace.
8:00 & 10:30 am: Traditional Worship
The traditional service is used each week as we celebrate the Divine Service (God serving us). Here we gather and use one of the Divine Service Settings from the Lutheran Service Book (LSB). Our worship includes music from numerous volunteers and musicians. From organ music, to piano and choir pieces each week. Come join us!
Communion is celebrated at:
8:00 am on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of each month, and
10:30 am on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of each month
